Meet Assistant Venue Manager: Barun

Campbell & George has some great staff. We have been lucky enough to recruit people with a wide range of experience from diverse backgrounds – with one thing in common: They all feel that a high level of customer service is key to a fun and successful day. None more so than our Assistant Venue Manager: Barun

Barun has been with Campbell & George since we opened and his career has advanced in that time due to his great work ethic. “ I started in the bistro and moved over to the bar, then I became a Supervisor and now I have the pleasure of being the Assistant Venue Manager. It’s a big job but it’s a great job!!!!”.

Barun and his wife immigrated to Australia from Nepal.  After earning a degree in accounting whilst working at the Crest Hotel in Kings Cross, Barun and the family moved to Queanbeyan to get out of the big smoke and start to discover Australia. They didn’t make it much further . . .  .

“ This is truly a beautiful part of the world. The community in Queanbeyan, my colleagues, and all the people we get the chance to meet are just so nice. It felt like home here very quickly, so we decided to make it ours. We have found ourselves in a very happy place.”

Barun is settling into the Assistant Venue Manager role and is keen to learn all there is to know. Barun is also keen to be a part of a strong team at Campbell & George. “ I have been lucky to be surrounded by very supportive managers and I want to return that favour. Our staff work hard however I feel we have fun at work as well. We treat Campbell & George like it is their own – we are proud of where we work and who we work with.”

“ The highlight for me this year will be my family coming to visit us from Nepal. I can’t wait to introduce my children to them, but I am also very excited to bring them to Campbell & George to meet my colleagues. Plus – where else in this part of the world would you want to try your first Schnitty???”
