A Message from Ray Sweeny, C&G Chair: I’m Supporting The Poplars Club – Will You Join Me?
- Posted 21 February 2025
Visit the public exhibition at Campbell & George to learn more about the project.
During the next two weeks Campbell & George will be hosting a Public Exhibition detailing the Vikings Group’s proposed new development in Jerrabomberra – The Poplars Club.
I’ve had a preview and I think it’s a great proposal that will provide choice for people who live in Jerra. It will be a place to get together with good services and facilities and will give back directly to the community it’s operating in. That’s what community clubs like us are all about.
The Poplars Club Public Exhibition will be set up in Nonna’s Kitchen from Friday 21 February until Thursday 6 March and open continuously daily from 10am. Next time you’re at Campbell & George please drop in to see for yourself.
Project representatives will be available to answer questions at the following times:
- Friday 21 February, 10am – 12noon
- Saturday 22 February, 10am – 12noon
- Wednesday 26 February, 7pm – 8:30pm
- Thursday 27 February, 7pm – 8:30pm
- Friday 28 February, 10am – 12noon
- Saturday 1 March, 10am – 12noon
The Poplars Club development application is on notification on the QPRC website and open for public submissions.
I’ll be sending in a quick email supporting the project and I hope you’ll join me by doing the same. Click the link below to find out how. Submissions close 6 March 2025, so please act now.
Thanks for helping to strengthen the community club presence in our region.
Kind regards,
Ray Sweeny
Campbell & George Chair
P.S. Community clubs are the backbone of support for local community groups – the more support we get, the more we give. Campbell & George gave over $35,000 through ClubGrants last year and Vikings has given back over $41 million to local groups since its foundation in 1976.
